Bangladesh is a disaster-prone country of an area of about 1,47,570 sq. km. with population nearing 140million. A large number of poor people are to live in vulnerable areas of the southern part of Bangladesh. This country is vulnerable to many types of natural disaster- Tropical cyclone, Tidal bore, Tornado, River bank erosion and floods. More recently earthquakes have been experienced in part of Bangladesh. FSDR’s disaster management involves disaster prevention / mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and development. We work in optimum coordination and best utilization of resources along-with ensuring community involvement so that they are aware of what they can do for protecting their lives and properties against disasters.
